Men are often perceived as this strong powerful person but in reality there just the same as women, but when people hear these types of stories where a woman is abusive to a male people often take it as a joke, due to the traditional stereotypes.  Another example where domestic abuse was not taken seriously was

Film comparisons

The three movies I will be comparing are, Moonlight, Kingsman and Skyfall. Whereas, all three of these movies share the trait of having male protagonists, each character comes from a very different background. The character Chiron from moonlight is a black man raised in the American hood by his drug-addicted mother. While both movies have different settings, a similarity can be seen as the character Eggsy from Kingsman lived in similar working-class conditions on an estate with his mother and violent stepfather. Character development can be seen with Eggsy as we watch him work his way up from being working class to middle/upper class. However, since he did this with help from Harry, it is suggested that working class people can’t make a life for themselves without the aid of someone of a higher status. In comparison to both Eggsy and Chiron's characters, the character of James bond is portrayed as a wealthy middle class man. This is shown through how he carries himself and his exp

Explore how women are represented in the TV shows EastEnders and Hollyoaks I have decided to conduct my research on how women are represented in soap operas. I will be looking at the different ways female characters have been constructed and mediated by text that I will be using. In addition to that I will also look at how and why female characters are portrayed in a particular way. Men and women in TV shows are shown as binary opposites. This is often associated with traditional stereotypes such as “Men are strong.” Women are weak” the list goes on. Media text has been constructed in a way that people consume the text and interpret it in their own way, which they then use to implement biased information, which forms the negative gender stereotypes that are seen in day-to-day life. EastEnders is a British soap opera that has been broadcasted on BBC One since 1985, which was created by Julia smith and Tony Holland. Since The creation of EastEnders there have been thousands of s
