New Zealand earthquake

A Tsunami hit New Zealand's South island. The local people were warned and asked to head inland or for higher ground along the coast.
A Tsunami which is also known as a seismic sea wave is a long, high sea wave caused by an earthquake or other disturbance and also due to the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a large lake.
New Zealanders are used to earthquakes because the country is literally above the notorious Ring of Fire, the dots shown in the images show where earthquakes happen frequently and the volcanic eruptions that circles literally the whole entire Pacific rim.
