The way this world is going is not for us": Elderly couple left heartbreaking note before double suicide

Couple Kathleen Howell and David Howell Drove to a place where they loved and committed suicide together. Before committing suicide it was said that the married couple treated themselves to some wine. The paramedics declared them both dead at the scene and when it came to searching their house the couple had carefully prepared everything to be found after their death. The couple had unplugged all electrical devices ,emptied and defrosted the freezer.

The couple left a note with details of their solicitors which said that they cancelled their direct debits and had paid there council tax in advanced. The note also left instructions that there Belongings should be donated to charity.

A letter from Mr Howell to his nephew read " Dear john and Lesley by the time you get this we will be long gone. We hope you don't think to bad of us. The way this world is going is not for us . Have a good Christmas love Kathy and Dave.

A postmortem revealed that the couples cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning.

I chose this story because I thought it was quite sad that the couple took their own lives because they just didn't want to live in this world anymore. This is a representation of issues of suicide. There are approximately one million suicides worldwide and every 40 seconds someone dies of suicide. Sucide could be prevented by educational which may allow people to open up it they they are thinking about taking there life.

London zoo gorilla broke enclosure glass twice before escape I recently found this story from the Guardian about a gorilla called kumbuka that escaped the enclosure at London zoo on Thursday evening it was reported that he broke out of his area and was later tranquillised by the vets and was brought back to his area. It has been reported that the london zoo have said that they are going to carry out a full investigation which has been described as a minor accident. Sources have stated that the cage door was left open. I chose this story because I usually here about animals escaping the zoo in movies and to here that a real life zoo animal escaped the zoo is quite astonishing. I also think that the zoo keepers should be more careful and should make sure that they close the cage, luckily for them no one was hurt.
