Muslim woman spat on while eating in restaurant says female race hate victims must speak out

Source: The independent

A Muslim women was spat at whilst in a restaurant. Nahella Ashraf age 46 was at a restaurant with a group of friends when a man that was described of being smartly dressed tried to drag her out of her seat then said a lot of racist remarks which followed by him spitting on her face. Ms Ashraf was really shaken up about the event.

Nahella told the independent that "We'd been there for about 45 min and we'd all finished eating there was a guy behind me , I assumed he was getting up to leave but he grabbed me and was screaming at me". After this occurred someone from the counter came quickly to the scene and stood in front of her and the man asked him what was wrong with him which he replied  "How can you have her in here" following this statement he leant forward and spat at Ms Ashraf 's face. Also whilst he was being kicked out Ms Ashraf recalls him saying that her kind of people kill people. The police were called to the scene but the man had already escaped. The police are treating the incident as a racially motivated hate crime.

I chose this as my weekly news because I think it disgusting the way the man spat at Ms Ashraf for being a , Muslim and the fact that other Muslims are suffering in silence is quite upsetting. This Is all because of the way the media tries to present all Muslims as terrorists and they try to make out that they're bad people even though there not, and I think that people should treat each other as equals and should not be discriminated against. This is a representation of issues which the issue is racism and discrimination.

  2. Corrections: 'When a man' not 'When I man', 'drag' not 'dragged', 'in silence' not 'I silence', 'is' not 'Is', 'they're' not 'there'.
This is a really detailed explanation of the events which occurred and you have made relevant references to representation, also you have included your own opinion. However, in order to improve make the corrections above and include an additional example/comparison of another time that an incident like this has occurred and how it was represented in the media.
