After looking at other sources to see their view on this I came across a news article called Manchester evening news where talking about whether Janet was being selfish bringing in a child into the world at age 50.
When I saw this article I was quite shocked because 50 is quite an old age to have a child because that's the age where women start to go into menopause. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing because there are pros and cons here but I think the cons out weigh the pros in this particular case because, yeah you bring in a child into the world and get to be a parent but you may not be around to see your child grow up or even get married and have their kids. When her child is 16 she will be 66, and I know if it where me I would not take the risk for my child to be left without a mother at a young age.
Ouvrielle was told that age 13 or 14 that she couldn't upset her dad because he could of had a heart attack. Ouvreille said that her parents were exhausted and the hardest thing for her was knowing how old her dad was and that he would likely die before she was grown up. She also goes on to saying that she lived in fear and prayed every week that he would live another week, but unfortunately her dad died just before her a levels at age 86 when she was 18 years old.
As for representation this comes under age.
Ouvrielle, age 40 speaks
about how her mum and dad had her at the age of 48 and 69. She stated that she
feels that she missed out on knowing her parents as an adult.

this is good, maybe go into more detail about how it is linked to the represetation of age.
ReplyDeleteThis story could have been compared to another similar story such as the worlds oldest mother, aged 70, giving birth! And include pictures!
ReplyDeleteI took what you said into consideration and added in the pictures.
DeleteCorrections: *their* (instead of 'other sources to see there view') and *there* (instead of 'they are pros and cons'). Also after 'Manchester evening news' put 'which talked about whether' rather than 'where talking about weather'. Also include some pictures. Aside from that this is a good weekly news due to the fact that it is relevant to the representation of age within the media however, to improve I think you could include a more in depth explanation of how the article relates to representation of age and also perhaps include an additional paragraph comparing this article to other articles which also represent age.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie for picking out my spelling errors. I Have corrected them now.
